The scan only requires removal of your shoes and socks. This is so that the gentle electrical current can conduct through your palms and soles. We do suggest that you wear lightweight clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt or your gym wear. Wearing jeans is not ideal. We also require you to remove any heavy jewellery and watches with heart rate monitors.
It is important to always scan under the exact same circumstances every time you can to ensure consistency and repeatability for tracking purposes. We recommend the best practice as follows;
1) Scan at the same time of day
2) Preferable do not scan after training. Scanning post vigorous training can skew results such as your total body water. Try wait at least 3 - 4 hours. If this is not possible don’t stress just keep scanning conditions the same for future scans
3) Keep your hydration and food volume the same
4) Do no consume alcohol within 24 - 48 hours prior to you scan
5) Preferably do not consume caffeine, pre-workouts, thermogenic (fat burners) or diuretics prior to scanning.
6) If you are female, take note of where you are in your hormonal cycle for consistency of readings. We recommend scanning in the first week post menstrual phase.
7) Ensure you are well hydrated
8) Make sure your feet cover the silver tactile points of the evolt 360 scanner
9) Ensure you are well rested and calm (ie. if you have rushed to get your scan, give yourself enough time to allow your blood pressure to return to normal)
10) Ensure you have full contact with your fingers, palms and thumbs with the silver tactile points on the handles of the evolt 360 scanner and remain still and silent throughout the scan process.

Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis or Bio impedance Analysis (BIA) works by passing a safe, low intensity electrical current through the body via the tactile points on the machine (feet and hands). The response of biological tissues to an alternating electrical signal applied produces a bioelectrical impedance which is a function of tissue composition as well as the frequency of the applied electrical signal. Impedance varies with tissue structure, tissue composition, tissue health, and signal frequency. The resistance to flow of the alternating current determines the difference between muscle mass, fat mass (including visceral and subcutaneous), water and mineral.
Yes, infact this is a great time to scan. Scans provide you with an accurate starting point and provide you with great motivation. If we waited until we were perfect with our training we would never see the results from where we first started. I also find that it is un realistic to expect us to be perfect every week.
