I'm a complete beginner when it comes to exercise, will this suit me?

Do I have to attend a gym?

Accepted Answer

Not if you don’t want to. You can come visit us at our friendly, private home base in Wanneroo, or we can come to you! Message us to enquire about our mobile visits.

What Results can I expect?

It all depends on you! We will scan and help you understand your scan results at a frequency that suits your goals and fitness. its important to remember that no one body is the same, and everyone achieves results at different rates depending on a number of lifestyle factors.

Question 4

What Do I wear? Do I need to take any clothes off?

Accepted Answer

The scan only requires removal of your shoes and socks. This is so that the gentle electrical current can conduct through your palms and soles. We do suggest that you wear lightweight clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt or your gym wear. Wearing jeans is not ideal. We also require you to remove any heavy jewellery and watches with heart rate monitors.

How can I ensure the best scan results?

It is important to always scan under the exact same circumstances every time you can to ensure consistency and repeatability for tracking purposes. We recommend the best practice as follows;
1) Scan at the same time of day
2) Preferable do not scan after training. Scanning post vigorous training can skew results such as your total body water. Try wait at least 3 - 4 hours. If this is not possible don’t stress just keep scanning conditions the same for future scans
3) Keep your hydration and food volume the same
4) Do no consume alcohol within 24 - 48 hours prior to you scan
5) Preferably do not consume caffeine, pre-workouts, thermogenic (fat burners) or diuretics prior to scanning.
6) If you are female, take note of where you are in your hormonal cycle for consistency of readings. We recommend scanning in the first week post menstrual phase.
7) Ensure you are well hydrated
8) Make sure your feet cover the silver tactile points of the evolt 360 scanner
9) Ensure you are well rested and calm (ie. if you have rushed to get your scan, give yourself enough time to allow your blood pressure to return to normal)
10) Ensure you have full contact with your fingers, palms and thumbs with the silver tactile points on the handles of the evolt 360 scanner and remain still and silent throughout the scan process.

What is the Evolt360 Scanner and how does it work?

The EVOLT 360 is a body composition analyser. It provides a quick, non-invasive, easy measurement of your body composition delivering a guideline of your lean body mass, body fat mass & percentage, skeletal muscle mass, visceral fat level, fitness age, fitness score plus much more.
Bio-electrical Impedance Analysis or Bio impedance Analysis (BIA) works by passing a safe, low intensity electrical current through the body via the tactile points on the machine (feet and hands). The response of biological tissues to an alternating electrical signal applied produces a bioelectrical impedance which is a function of tissue composition as well as the frequency of the applied electrical signal. Impedance varies with tissue structure, tissue composition, tissue health, and signal frequency. The resistance to flow of the alternating current determines the difference between muscle mass, fat mass (including visceral and subcutaneous), water and mineral.

My food and training has been bad. Should I still scan?

Yes, infact this is a great time to scan.  Scans provide you with an accurate starting point and provide you with great motivation.  If we waited until we were perfect with our training we would never see the results from where we first started.  I also find that it is un realistic to expect us to be perfect every week.

What If I am too embarrassed or shy?

It completely normal to feel shy before attending your fist appointment. We strive to make the experience comfortable and educational for everyone. We have scanned all body shapes, sizes, and ages. You are right at the beginning of your health and fitness journey and we cant wait to help guide you on the right path. Being equipped with the right knowledge from the start is key to making progress towards your goals. 
We don’t judge anyone! Your journey is something to be proud of, but we will always respect your privacy. We do love to share a good progress story, but will always seek your permission before sharing anything personal on our social media.

Question 10

What If I am pregnant or have a pacemaker? Can I scan?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately no, you can’t. We would hate to interfere with your rhythm! It is also advised not to scan when pregnant either, especially in the first trimester.

How do I get ProBodyScans at my gym, health centre or workplace?
